Assignment #1Honors 100 helped kick off my Freshman year at UW: teaching me about the community on campus, opportunities available to me, and helping hone my academic work for future classes. For the first assignment, I was asked to reflect on my path to UW and envisioning my path forward from Freshman year.
In the future, I hope to reflect back on my naive self who wrote this artifact. From this artifact provides a baseline for my college and honors experience; any changes that I can find when I self-reflect indicates that as a whole, my educational experience has helped me grow into a more realistic and worldly thinker. |
Assignment #5: First Quarter Reflection
|
For my final assignment for Honors 100, I was asked to reflect on my first quarter here at UW. Where as Assignment #1 was an "entrance survey" for me, Assignment #5 fulfills an "exit survey".
While taking my time and thinking about how my beliefs had changed, I looked back on my stated goals from Assignment #1 and compared them with the goals I had written for Assignment #5. Through this comparison I found that I started believing that education is a more personal endevor. This was reflected in my more limited focus on interdisciplinary education; studying what I found to be interesting elements and disciplines, rather than a broad composition of topics. This change illustrates how even a limited amount of time in a different environment can cause ideas to adapt and change. Through forcing your ideas to adapt and change is how a thinker is born; hopefully this trend continues throughout my time at UW. |
